American Cancer Society Statement on Anti-Asian Racist Rhetoric
Mar 4, 2021
The American Cancer Society and American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network stand against ongoing racist rhetoric across our nation and the recent hate crimes against Asians and Asian Americans.

The American Cancer Society and American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network stand against ongoing racist rhetoric across our nation and the recent hate crimes against Asians and Asian Americans.

Individual and systemic racism deeply impacts lives and communities and continues to fuel unacceptable health, education, and economic inequities. As advocates for eliminating health disparities overall and those specific to our cancer-fighting mission, we believe everyone must have a fair and just opportunity to prevent, find, treat and survive cancer. Those goals, however, will not be achieved without ending discrimination of every form across all aspects of the American experience and daily life.

Today and every day, we raise our voices in commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity. We will continue to bring people of all backgrounds together to create new solutions and lasting change that improve and save lives from cancer.
