It is impossible to estimate the number of lives impacted by Dr. Lynch’s work....
Henry T. Lynch, M.D., passed away on June 2, 2019. Below is a comment from Gary Reedy, chief executive officer.
"Dr. Lynch was a true pioneer in the study of inherited genomic risk. Since the 1960’s he devoted his life to this field and his work led to the coining of the term “Lynch Syndrome.” Our understanding of the genetic risks for colon and uterine cancers, among several others, are directly tied to his work. In 1997, the American Cancer Society awarded Dr. Lynch our Medal of Honor Clinical Research Award, our highest award. Dr. Lynch also received several American Cancer Society research grants and in 1992 earned the American Cancer Society’s Distinguished Service Award.
"It is impossible to estimate the number of lives impacted by Dr. Lynch’s work. It is equally impossible for us properly convey the gratitude and appreciation we all have for the difference he made. Thank you Dr. Lynch. You will be missed."
