ATLANTA, June 2, 2026 — The American Cancer Society (ACS), in partnership with Cancer Research UK (CRUK), is hosting the 3rd annual Cancer Prevention Research Conference from June 3–5, 2026, in Atlanta, Georgia. This premier international summit serves as a collaborative crucible, uniting the world’s leading minds across discovery, translational, behavioral, population, and implementation sciences. By breaking down traditional academic silos, the event fosters a dynamic, multidisciplinary community dedicated to sparking high-impact collaborations, sharing cutting-edge breakthroughs, and accelerating global efforts to eliminate cancer before it starts.
“This conference serves as a catalyst for cross-disciplinary pioneers to immerse themselves in, debate, and advance the absolute frontier of cancer prevention science,” said Dr. William Dahut, chief scientific officer at the American Cancer Society. “Our objective is to forge next-generation strategies that actively dismantle and mitigate cancer risk, while generating the rigorous, real-world evidence needed to deploy life-saving preventive measures globally.”
Conference co-chairs Dr. Andrew Chan (Massachusetts General Hospital), Dr. Kala Visvanathan (Johns Hopkins University), and Dr. Kwee Yong (University College London) are shaping this year’s scientific program, bringing together expert speakers from across the globe to share novel insights in talks, panels, and poster sessions spanning the research continuum.

Also at the conference, Dr. Raymond Dubois will be honored with the 2026 Cancer Prevention Research Outstanding Achievement Award. Dr. Dubois has made substantial contributions to cancer prevention studies. His work in unmasking the mechanism and enzymes necessary for the production of cancer-driving inflammatory prostaglandin E2, and the inhibition of COX-2 as a means to intercept early cancer progression and prevent gastrointestinal cancers, has been transformative.
